004_WEBCAMHUMOR
In today's world, it's hard for the younger generation to understand why "old people" can't figure out how to use technology. But some of them grew up when the radio or the black and white television was the cool thing. When you don't grow up doing something from a young age, it's so much harder to learn. It is especially hard to learn how to do new things at an older age. In a technology-driven world, it is more and more common to see the older generations slowly trying to become more knowledgeable with things like Facebook, webcams, iPods, and cell phones.
I'm sure some of you have seen this video before, but for today's post I'd like to keep it short and sweet while still sticking to the technology topic. Which is exactly what this little old couple is; sweet and also very entertaining. So here's a little webcam humor!...
So how many people think this is exactly what their grandparents (or even parents) would do with a new webcam?
Does anyone have grandparents that have actually learned to use technology well?
The clip is amusing, but honestly I think you young people don't give older people enough credit. Perhaps the "old people" in that clip are mocking young people. While it's true, I didn't grow up with a cell phone, iPod, or computer... I haven't had much trouble figuring out how to use them even at my age.
Thanks for the comments! Nancy- This was actually meant to give the "older" generation credit for trying to keep up with all the technology today. But I think this video is cute, so I wanted to add it in for a little bit of humor. Dr.C- I know! I will be trying to teach my grandmother from Danville how to webcam so we can "see" each other more often! Noelle- Don't feel bad! My boyfriend (20 years old) hates using the computer. I know a ton of younger people that aren't great with them.

ReplyDeleteWhat's scarier is what they do with the technology once they adopt it!

My gram would not even know how to turn on a computer. However, it must run in the family because I'm horrible with technology myself!
